THE HOME OF CAMILA

"Love liberates. It doesn’t just hold—that’s ego. Love liberates. It doesn’t bind. Love says, ‘I love you  [...] I would like to be near you. I’d like to have your arms around me. I’d like to hear your voice in my ear.
But that’s not possible now, so I love you. Go."

"THE HOME OF CAMILA" is the story of a woman and her gentle letting go of responsibility, life, love, and death. A journey into the unknown, a dive into the peace of her own acceptance.

A gift to my mother, to the strength of women and a eulogy to our vulnerabilities and fragilities.

The title is inspired by Alessandra Sanguinetti's photo 'Camilla' Buenos Aires, Argentina. 1999

REVIEWS

"Giving ample space for personal reflection, ‘The Home of Camila’ is the story of a liberation. Overcoming self-sabotaging thoughts, feelings and beliefs opens the way to unknown places that allow for experience and growth. Giorgia Gasparetto impresses with the presence and confidence with which she presents this concentrated and challenging choreography. ’. "

Karina Warnel - Brygada Tanca

"It is a story full of strong emotions, presented with delicate, soft and flowing movement, fully in tune with the music. The dancer seems to recede and lose herself in the freedom of movement. Giorgia Gasparetto's ability to portray emotions (without unnecessary exaggeration) conveys well the inner struggle faced by the character she plays."
